AS I sit on the QuiltCon Panel Friday at noon California time, with other professional makers: Anna Maria Horner, Elaine Theriault, moderated by Anne Sullivan talking about Staying and Keeping Creative and how we deal with creative road blocks, you can be merrily downloading this free pattern and start creating yourself! I have had multiple requests for this pattern already and I am more than happy to give it away as a QUILTCON present, even if you're not! The embroidery pattern is actually the pattern on my printed Black&White fabric as I followed my grey textile design loosely and placed the black polka dot profile skull onto the fabric. I appliquéd it on with simple needle turn technique. For embroidery I used mostly DMC and odd bits and ends of stuff. Left to right: Wrapping ribbon (pink plastic), gold and green woven flat trim, hand dyed fuchsia to orange silk (Thanks Jollyne!) and DMC. I own loads of it. My stuff is not fancy, couldn't find my nice scissors....they're somewhere around here! Plastic Zip Lock storage bags....... Detail shows I used simple stitches and love french knots (if you want to learn tons of stitches see Judith's books). Like variety of thread stitched with as it gives interest and shimmer. The plastic pink wrapping was a delightful surprise as I pulled off a recent gift I received and stitched it on. Print these to fill page. 8.5" x 11" and you will have proper scale just like my drawings on paper. If you want these same fabrics for your project, click here to order from my shop. Includes the new mini poster of TOP TEN TIPS and pattern for the skull. Here is a link to download the PDF's of the skull patterns above.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone and I can't wait to share with you next week what WOW'd me at QuiltCon. I am extending the 15% off until leap day, February 29 just because I really love February, my birthday and QuiltCon! My mom always likes a bargain too, so it's also a nod to her as she birthed me so many years ago, raised me well, loves me and taught me thriftiness among many, many other wonderful things. Plus I want her to smile when she reads this... (xo mom!) Creatively Yours,

QuiltCon is a big deal whether it's your 1st or 5th time. It's chock a block full of amazing quilts, teachers, artists, vendors, professionals and newbies. Next week it's in Pasadena, California just 5 hours south of San Francisco: So I'm road tripping down and look forward to seeing it once again. For the first time, I'm so happy to have a quilt on display and some events I would like to invite you to if you are going to be in sunny SoCal. Friday, February 19th, 12:00pm-1:00pm |
